February 15th and it has been a busy week planning my 2014 Professional Tour Golf season. The weather in Vancouver has not been cooperating lately as the winter weather has started to kick in. Temperatures ranging from -6 °C to 3 °C has caused the golf courses and outdoor practice facilities to be closed in which I have found myself under heated stalls at the driving range. As discouraging as it sounds, I have found reason to continue practicing as much as I dread it. Somewhere deep in my conscience I feel that it is an opportunity that has presented itself in which I must take advantage of. I know that the time I spend in these conditions as I am practicing only makes me stronger than those who are practicing in pristine conditions. Unfortunately I do not have the luxury to be in the climate of warm and sunny weather, but I have taken advantage of being able to still spend time working on my game and training in the facilities that I am blessed to have. Richmond Country Club and Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club have been amazing clubs in allowing me privileges to access some of the best practice facilities in the lower mainland. They have been so supportive and accommodating with their amazing and friendly staff that have welcomed me into their clubs amongst their members. It has been a rough winter in regards to weather, but these golf courses have provided the support in which I am thankful for.
Well, enough of the depressing talk about weather and onto a more positive note. I have struck up another product sponsor with nutritional supplements company called USANA Health Sciences. They provide health essential supplements and nutritionals in support of our daily diet and energy for our active lifestyles. I am very excited about my new product sponsor and I hope to see some changes and improvements in my health in 2014 for a successful year in golf!
Lastly, I wanted to address the progress of my RallyMe page! It has only been 10 days since I went live and I am already at 50% of my $10, 000 goal. There are still 20 more days and I hope we are able to raise at least the minimum of $10, 000 and even exceed it! I know it will take a whole lot of help from my current and potential supporters but I have a feeling I will be able to complete my goal within the 20 days remaining. So again, if you have not checked out my Rally, please take a minute to share my story to your friends and family in support of a Professional Athlete's dream :)
