Feeling Inspired....

CANADIAN WOMEN'S HOCKEY WINS GOLD AT SOCHI 2014 OLYMPICS!!!

What an inspiration to all athletes in the world!

The Olympics is the greatest test for all competitive sports and in 2016 the Summer Olympics will
re-debut Golf! Fun fact: Canada is the 1905 Olympics Defending Champion of Golf!!!

As a matter of fact, one of my biggest aspirations is to one day compete in the Olympics when it kicks off in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil in the summer of 2016.

"When you believe something can be done, really believe, your mind will find ways to do it."

The start to my first year as a Professional golfer has been a little patchy. In terms of my playing schedule and having partial status on the Symetra Tour, I have been practicing hard awaiting the email that I have been confirmed to play in events.  One of the downfalls of being a rookie on the Symetra Tour is not having a guarantee that you are able to play in every event.  That is the speed bump that I am in the process of overcoming.  The determination to practice has become a little more intensified because of the fact that I may be competing as early as tomorrow.  I practice every day and every minute counts toward my dreams and goals.   I have learned that opportunities in competing in tournaments is a privilege at this level of the game.  I am not only working harder on the golf course, but my practice has become more effective and efficient.  I have previously found myself distracted at times during practice because at the time it was as easy as signing up for an event and just playing.  I have learned that not only is it a privilege to be listed as a player to compete in professional events, but each event is an opportunity to prove great preparation for success even when given the chance at such short notice.  It has been hard getting used to the life of not having a detailed and organized playing schedule, but I am able to learn from the situation and improvise when needed.
I know that when the time is right I will have proved to myself that I am winning potential, until then, patience and dedication is golden.

I believe that every day is a new day to change your life whether it be the simplest way possible.  In the past week I have been spending time with my own personal thoughts through relaxation and breathing; in other words, meditating.  To some it may seem like a waste of time or something that takes too much time.  But I began with just 5 minutes of breathing.  Not just breathing, but focusing on each breath and bringing myself to the present without any worries or thoughts about what I am going to do after the 5 minutes.  Honestly, I can say that I have been feeling calmer in that I appreciate everything and everyone around me even more.  We sometimes take things around us for granted and forget that we need to be ourselves in order to feel sincerity and gratefulness.  Meditation has allowed me to see that everyday is a new day and I am in control of how I want to change my life or improve and keep growing no matter my age.  I want to be able to learn something or try something new everyday whether I am 22 years old or 55 years old.  I believe that people nowadays are so caught up with their age that they psychologically tell themselves they are not able to do something because of some excuse.
"Whether you think you can or you think you can't-  you're right."
Because for all you care, you are either lazy and won't do anything about it or you can be dedicated to living your life to the best of your own ability.  I want to keep learning and keep living until I can no longer handle it physically and mentally.  We only live once so we might as well live it to the fullest and be happy without any regrets.

The possibilities are endless, dream big and even if you don't necessarily achieve your goal, at least you worked hard for something and have something to be proud of.

***As you have read, I have been feeling extra inspired by the Canadian Women's Hockey Team in pursuing their ultimate goal of winning at the Olympics :) ***
