I have also created a RallyMe page which is an online platform where crowd funding takes place. "Crowd Funding" is a growing movement in which athletes and teams are able to reach out to their family and friends, fans, friends of friends and family in order to donate a chosen amount in order to achieve a goal amount. In my case, I have created a RallyMe page dedicated to my 2014 Pro Tour Season funding where my initial goal is to raise at least $10, 000 in 30 days. In order to make this goal realistic I have broken down my initial 2014 Tour season funding from $40, 000 to allow for 4 separate rallies at $10, 000. This page was launched yesterday afternoon around 3 pm (February 6, 2014) and already I have raised $3, 015! I am very happy to see that things are slowly falling into place as I am able to focus more on the golf aspect rather than stressing about finances. So if you are reading this, please take the time to visit my page and help support my dreams and goals :D https://www.rallyme.com/rallies/244/cw2014dream
On another note, I am working hard on my game. Although this cold weather has brought freezing cold temperatures to about -10 degrees Celsius at night and daytime temperatures of -3 degrees Celsius (not counting the severe cold windchill to about -5 degrees Celsius) leaving the golf courses out of commission, I have found myself under the heaters at the Savage Creek Driving range where I am able to at least hit golf balls. It is times like these where I just have to do whatever it takes to continue my training in any condition. Coming from me, I am definitely a softie when it comes to cold weather, so for me, I am proving to myself that I can practice in these conditions. Trust me, hitting balls in these conditions is not ideal for tournament preparation but I believe that what doesn't kill me only makes me stronger. Agree? So much of our lives we hold back the things we want to do because of some excuse, but it results in negative energy where we may believe that it is "pointless" to try. But I have found that even when I have felt this negative energy I try to mentally push myself to be stronger and believe that the mind can take me far places if I just believe in the process. My college coach Leslie Spalding taught me that. It is always about the process and to not get so caught up in the results. The process is the most important part of the journey and the end result is just the reflection of what you have accomplished. We often find ourselves very result-oriented. "I want to be a millionaire by the time I'm 30" "I want to own 5 cars by the time I'm 25" "I want to travel the world for a year". These things are so easy to say but yet we forget how hard work and dedication contributes to theses successes that come from the journey of the process. To believe in the process and results will come are words that I will never forget. So in order for me to achieve my goal of raising about $40, 000- $50, 000 for the 2014 Tour season I have to believe in the process to get there through fundraising campaigns and sponsorship opportunities. My motto for 2014 is to believe in the process and results will come. #thisisit
