Day 3:
After recovering from my 24 hour travel
day I was still feeling tired from the travel day and right into playing a
round of golf. But Wednesday was a much
needed practice day. There were two
pro-ams which restricted the players from being on the course at all, so I
spent about 4.5 hours practicing which consisted of getting a feel for the
green conditions, working on my ball striking and especially my tan. In the last 3 days I have been in Florida I
can say that my skin is a much darker shade with a burn that is cooked to
medium rare. I guess that’s what happens when I have been hiding in Vancouver
for 5 months away from the warm sun…!
After spending a day at the course practicing, my roommate Amy Eneroth
and I headed back to our host family’s house to rest up for her early pro-am
tee time the following morning (we shared a car so I had to wake up at the same
time to take her to the course).
We had
a relaxing evening having a salad and rotisserie chicken for dinner and maybe…a
little bit of homemade strawberry shortcake for dessert :P
We winded down the night and I began
my new read called, “Divergent”.
Day 4:
Early wake up call!! Had an early breakfast to take my roomie to her 8 am pro-am tee time and I was restricted from the practice facilities as I was not playing in the pro-am. What did I do with 4 hours of my time you ask? I slept in our comfortable Toyota Corolla rental car in the parking lot for an hour and decided to go for a manicure and pedicure at about 9 am :) Here is a picture of the sun peaking through the fog in the early Florida morning:
I relaxed and took my time getting back to the golf course to practice and get 9 holes in before the first round begins tomorrow. I had a great time on the course today catching up with an old Team Canada teammate, Sara-Maude Juneau and made a new friend name Ashleigh Albrecht who is also a rookie on the tour.
I took a few snapshots while out there in the hot sun today and even snuck in a selfie along with the classy drinks left in the coolers for the pro-am competitors!
Loving my new LIJA gear :D
I am really looking forward to meeting and making friends with girls on this tour as it can be intimidating at times being a lone rookie! I am sure I will get the hang of things because some girls have offered to help give advice and tips to get me through the year. For them I am thankful to be here in this positive environment :)
Experience of the day: I had my first Dunkin Donut experience today and thoroughly enjoyed my caramel iced coffee
(Amy and I)
First round of the Florida's Natural Charity Classic begins tomorrow! I am off at 1:10 pm so you can follow online at http://www.symetratour.com
Please send the love :)
